scream singing
based on a text I typed out and then deleted
“oh yeah scream singing is the best way to get through a break up”
Do you even believe that? It’s so easy to type it out and press send, be agreeable and relatable, and let them hear their own thoughts through your continuous echo. It’s so minuscule of a lie that in the moment it doesn’t feel like it into you like a bruise, let alone carve out a scar. So, so, so small, and yet you still deep, deep, deep down know you can’t relate. You haven’t gone through a breakup in years, so long ago it replays like a movie, an audience member, and a piece of unadulterated art, no impressions, critiques, or criticisms, just an existence that sits within a void of itself. A memory with no heartbeat, no pulse to quicken, or lungs to breathe. But this is not about break ups, which are so human that you feel like a monster. This is about how what you say is not what you mean and what you don’t say means everything and how after all these years the little cuts contort you with one devastating blow and there is nothing at all left.

words for when replying "you don't get it" are nowhere near enough
